Upper Düden Waterfall
A shaded park on the north side of the city where the Düden river drops into a gorge — you can walk behind the falls.
At Upper Düden the river tumbles over a rock ledge into a small canyon surrounded by plane trees and picnic gardens. A path leads into a natural grotto behind the curtain of water, a favourite spot for photographs.
The park is cool even in summer and has cafés and tea gardens, which makes it an easy first stop on a city tour before the heat builds up.
- →Visit in the morning to avoid crowds and peak heat.
- →Paths are damp near the grotto; not suitable for wheelchairs beyond the main viewing area.
