Yivli Minaret
The fluted brick minaret built under the Seljuks in the 13th century — the symbol of Antalya.
The Yivli Minaret was commissioned by the Seljuk sultan Alaeddin Keykubad I in the 13th century. Its distinctive fluted shaft of red brick, once decorated with turquoise tiles, rises above the old town and appears on the city’s emblem.
The surrounding complex includes a mosque, a former Mevlevi lodge and Seljuk-era tombs, giving guides an easy way to explain the city’s medieval history before descending into Kaleiçi.
- →Visible from Republic Square (Cumhuriyet Meydanı) — a short stop works well before or after the old town walk.
- →The mosque is an active place of worship; brief guests on modest dress if entering.
