Pierre Loti Hill
A hilltop café and viewpoint above Eyüp with a classic panorama of the Golden Horn.
Named after the French writer Pierre Loti, who frequented the café in the nineteenth century, the hill rises above the historic cemetery of Eyüp. The terrace looks down the full length of the Golden Horn towards the Old City.
A short cable car connects the hill to the Eyüp Sultan Mosque, one of the most important pilgrimage sites in Istanbul, which most programmes combine with the viewpoint.
- →Take the cable car up and walk down through the cemetery paths only with mobile guests.
- →Late afternoon light is best for photographs.
- →Eyüp Sultan Mosque is busiest on Fridays and religious days.
