Uzungöl Lake
The lake, lakeside mosque and wooden village — walks, viewpoints and trout restaurants.
Uzungöl, in the Çaykara district about 100 km from Trabzon, is one of the most beautiful natural destinations on the Black Sea. The lake, the lakeside mosque and the wooden village framed by forested mountains form the region’s best-known view.
A flat path circles the lake, and viewpoints on the hillsides give the classic panorama. Trout restaurants, small shops and cafés line the village, and many hotels sit within walking distance of the water.
- →Around 1 hour 30 minutes from Trabzon each way; overnight stays avoid day-tripper crowds.
- →July–August weekends are very busy — midweek visits are calmer.
- →Rain is frequent even in summer; umbrellas and light rain jackets help.
