Pamukkale & Hierapolis
White travertine terraces and the ancient spa city of Hierapolis.
Pamukkale’s white terraces were formed by calcium-rich thermal water flowing down the hillside. Visitors walk barefoot along the travertines, with pools of warm water and views over the valley.
At the top lies Hierapolis, a Roman spa city with a large theatre, necropolis and the Antique Pool, where guests can swim among submerged columns. The whole site is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
- →Shoes must be removed on the travertines — bring a bag for them.
- →The Antique Pool has a separate entrance fee.
- →An overnight in a thermal hotel makes the trip more comfortable than a day trip.
