Bursa Covered Bazaar & Koza Han
Bursa’s historic market quarter, including the fifteenth-century silk market of Koza Han.
Behind the Grand Mosque lies the Kapalı Çarşı (covered bazaar) and a network of hans. Koza Han, built in 1491, was the centre of the Ottoman silk trade; its courtyard with a small mosque is now lined with silk shops and tea gardens.
Silk scarves, towels and bathrobes, chestnut candy (kestane şekeri) and Karagöz shadow puppets are the classic Bursa purchases.
- →Many shops close on Sundays.
- →Kestane şekeri makes an easy group souvenir.
