Phaselis
A Lycian port city in a pine forest, with three natural harbours, a Roman street and an aqueduct.
Phaselis was founded as a colony by settlers from Rhodes and grew into an important port with three harbours. Its main paved street runs between the harbours, past baths, an agora and a small theatre, and a Roman aqueduct crosses the site.
The ruins sit among pine trees beside clear coves, so a visit can include time for swimming. Excursion boats from Kemer also anchor in the bays.
- →Bring swimwear — the north and south harbour coves are ideal for a swim after the visit.
- →Pair with the Tahtalı cable car, which is only a few minutes away.
